#FindOutFriday Answers 31

Spring is here! Or, it's supposed to be. Oh, well. Here are the answers to #TriviaTuesday. How many did you get? Tell in the comments below!

  1. Thomas Wolsey - Ahh, another Tudors character. He was real, and a cardinal at Henry VIII's court. He also held most of the power in the first decade of the king's reign (1509-1520ish). Archbishop Bray of Ploum was based off this man, with some differences. Whereas Wolsey had a mistress and sons, Bray was married and had children before he joined the priesthood. Wolsey died before he reached the Tower of London whereas Bray suffered the ultimate fate. The similarities are mostly of their rise from obscure circumstances and the power they held for decades.

  2. Tower of London - Come on. You all should know how much I love my English history. The Tower of London does deserve a mention. It was my inspiration for the Ploum Prison. While I drew mine out larger than the real structure, they both hold the same torture tactics, executions and levels of cells. Nobles and royalty have resided there, first as a palace and then as a prison. After Henry VIII, it was connected with a gruesome death. The same could be said about the Ploum Prison...

  3. LGBTQIA+ Community - In Through the Meadow, the character of Miranda attends meetings with various people of the LGBTQIA+ community. It's a secret location and it's guarded by a transgender woman. These same communities sprung across the US. It was kind of an open secret, like Miranda's visits, and often hidden in open sight, with passwords and warnings. The sense that you were around people just like you, who cannot be accepted, is always comforting and should not be kept in the dark.

That's all, folks! Have a great weekend. Namaste!
