Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!! This is the 1st trivia game we've played for a while. Here are the answers from Tuesday. Which did you get right? Comment below. Namaste!
Redwood National and State Parks - THIS was my inspiration for the western shores of Cherls as I was writing Through the Meadow. When Miranda and Julia escape from Klenard, they settle in a place well outside their homeland. The redwoods and the shoreline gave me a mental image of what I imagined Cherls was and how anybody could attack it.
Experimental Drugs - In Casting Shadows, the new bride, Flora, throws a party and drugs almost everyone who came. The idea of experimental drugs isn't new, but the acid tests, protests, etc., prompted inspiration for these royal parties. While the guests have a blast, it is more of a cover than a fete.
Ancaeus - In Greek mythology, Ancaeus was the son of Poseidon and King of Samos. His death was the most famous story of all, surviving war to taste Samos's wine...and being killed by a wild boar before he could sip his wine. While Zane, a character in The Circle is Broken, was not a monarch nor did he grow any grapes foe wine, he shared the same fate with Ancaeus - being gored by a boar (although my character does not exactly die from his wounds).
Namaste, everyone! Have a great weekend. Stay safe!
